The legal professional title of tax advisor/auditor was acquired in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The profession of tax consultant is essentially subject to the following legal regulations:

  • Tax Consultancy Act (StBerG)
  • Implementing Ordinance to the Tax Consultancy Act (DVStB)
  • Professional Code of Conduct (BOStB)
  • Tax Consultant Remuneration Ordinance (StBVV)

The professional regulations can be inspected at the responsible Chamber of Tax Consultants in Cologne, which can also be found on the website of the Federal Chamber of Tax Consultants (www.bstbk.de).

Competent supervisory authority: Chamber of Auditors Berlin

The professional liability insurance exists with HDI Versicherung AG, HDI-Platz 1, 30659 Hannover. The geographical scope of insurance cover covers activities in the member states of the European Union and thus at least meets the requirements of § 54 of the German Code of Auditors (WPO) in conjunction with the Ordinance on Professional Liability Insurance for Auditors and Sworn Auditors (WPBHV).

Out-of-court settlement of disputes

We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in a dispute settlement procedure before a consumer arbitration body. Our competent supervisory authority mediates between members of the chamber and their clients upon request in the event of disputes, e.g. on the occasion of a fee invoice or the non-issuance of documents. In this case, it is a mediation procedure. We do not participate in other conciliation procedures.

Professional title and competent chamber

The lawyers working in the law firm are admitted under the law of the Federal Republic of Germany and are members of the Cologne Bar Association, Riehler Straße 30, 50668 Cologne (www.rak-koeln.de). The professional titles were awarded to the respective persons on the basis of federal German legal norms by the respective competent Ministry of Justice after a special approval procedure passed by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne/the Board of the Cologne Bar Association.
